Traveling Across OKlahoma.

Sorry it has been so long since my last post! Here's a lil update on my recent adventures :)

Corbin's family and I went to the Renaissance Festival in Muskogee, OK. It was SO much fun. Saw some crazy costumes and ate some really yummy food! Corbin and I shared a snow cone. We got to put the syrup ourselves which was a ton of fun! The weekend in Tulsa was great, like always.

I finally finished my online intercession class!! Still don’t know what my grade is yet, but I’m hoping I got an A. I start my next class Monday. It’s from 2-5pm Monday - Thursday until the end of June. It should be an interesting class. It’s a poetry writing course. We’ll see how it goes.
I went to the Sex and the City 2 premier with my Courtney and Jordan! It was a ton of fun and a great girls night out! The three of us got interviewed for the Daily paper. Had some great laughs and made some great memories!

For Memorial weekend, Corbin and I came to Altus and spent the weekend with my family. My grandparents came up from Midland, Texas! We had a really great time. Played A LOT of cards and games. My family loves playing games, especially Monopoly and Apples to Apples!

This Friday my Dad is graduating from Wayland Baptist University! I'm so proud of him for going back to school and finishing up his degree! He's going on to complete his masters as well! Pictures of that to come!
After the graduation we are driving 5 hours to Midland, Texas to visit my grandparents! They have no idea I'm coming so it'll be a big surprise! I'm hoping to find a dress for the wedding I'm going to next weekend with Corbin and his family. We'll be leaving Midland Sunday around noon so that means I'll be back in Norman around 8 or 9. Sunday is going to be such a long day. Then I have to get ready for my class.
I'll be leaving AGAIN next Thursday to drive to Tulsa. Then we're all leaving Friday to drive to Dallas. The rehearsal dinner is that night and the wedding is on Saturday. Then we’re coming back to Tulsa Sunday, and I’ll be heading back to Norman the same day. So in about 3 weeks I’ll have put almost a 1000 miles on my car. Haha!
Well friends I hope you all are enjoying your summers! It’s already June! Time is just flying by, at least for me it is!

Happy Exploring!

"Weekend Expedition"

Well, bloggers, I made it through the first week of my online intercession class! I'm taking Intro to Literature through OCCC.  So far the class seems to be going smoothly. Just an insane amount of reading. I've had my head stuck inside my literature book (it's the book below) trying to read as fast as I can! Today I read 10 short stories, wrote a paper, and took a test. This is 1 of 3 summer classes that I'm taking this summer. Even though I've taken summer classes every summer since I've been in college, I've never taken 9 hours in one summer. EEK! But, I officially start summer break July 16! I'll have about a month of fun in the sun before fall classes start and my 21st Birthday in August!!

Tomorrow I'm leaving Altus and making my way up the turnpike to Tulsa! My goal is to leave by 8 in order to make it to Sand Springs by Noon! Yay for a 4 hour car drive by myself... But on a happier note, I'm so excited to get to spend a weekend with Corbin and his family! We'll be going to the Oklahoma Renaissance Festival on Saturday! I'm really looking forward to the festival. Haven't been to one in about 3 years! Corbin and I are also going to see Iron Man 2, even though I haven't seen the first one. Any Bloggers out there who have seen either of the Iron Man movies?

I am also excited to say that next year I will have a roommate, Miss Lauren Harbour!!! I am so excited and I can't wait to become better friends with her! Next year is going to be so great! Even though I really enjoyed living by myself, I was extremely lonely a large majority of the time. It was always nice to have friends over to keep me company and hang out with. So we are now just praying about where to live next year. If any of you guys now any great places for a great prices let us know!! I'm totally pumped!!

So thats just a little bit of my life's adventures! I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week and your weekend! I'll be posting again soon!

"My Adventure Blog"

Now that I've recapped a little, let me now focus on the present! My vision for this blog is to write about all the adventures life brings me. One of my recent favorite children's movies is Pixar's "UP!" If you haven't seen this movie it is a MUST SEE! It is great for all ages, providing humor and sentiment. This movie is where the theme of my blog comes from, "Adventure is out there!" I will be exploring my life and enjoying my own adventures, and I'll share it here with you all!

"... it's the 'boring' stuff that I remember most."
- Russell, in UP!

So I ask you and myself these two questions :

1. What adventures are in your book?
2. What hinders you from going on your adventures?

Thinking about question one, I realized that being in college is an adventure. Each semester is an adventure! I have to enjoy my time in college because it'll be over before I know it. Although, I'm always saying "I can't wait to be done with school" I have to remember to enjoy the present. Enjoy what God is giving me right now! Love the adventure God is taking me on, and make memories worth remembering.

God's word reminds us that nothing is impossible through Him! So don't let fear, doubt, finances, resources, or even people hold you back from dreaming and exploring! These things can hold you hostage, and keep you from coming alive.

So all my readers, go out and explore the world around you and love your experiences, even the hard ones. Because through the hard times, God is molding you and stretching you to reach your full potential! Put on your explorer goggles and remember, "Adventure is out there!"

Happy Exploring,

Stephanie

"Recap"

Well this summer I've decided to jump back into the blogging world. I'll be blogging on a new blog, so bear with me as I re-familiarize myself with Blogger, and construct my new blog! My last post on my old blog was in April of 2009! I can't believe it's been over a year! So many things are different now than they were a year ago, so I'll do my best to recap some important things from this past year. :)

I was elected in as Treasurer of Sigma Phi Lambda "Sisters for the Lord" for the 2009-2010 school year. I learned a lot about myself and how to budget money really well. With wisdom and guidance from God, Liz finding coupons for events and things, our National finance director's help, and my crazy budgeting skills, we were able to leave the new officers with a substantial amount of funds for next year! It's amazing how God blesses those who serve him and our faithful even with little things!

This was us in October of 2008 :)

This is a more recent photo of us on a date night to the movies! :)

In October of 2008, I met a wonderful Godly man, Corbin Wimer. We became really great friends and enjoyed each others company. He is probably the funniest person I've ever met in my life, which is great because I love to laugh! We prayed about our futures together and God opened up many doors for us. On April 4, 2009 we made it official! It has been a little over a year now, and I still am finding things out about him that make me fall more and more in love with him. Even though we've gone through hard times, we've leaned on God and our family and friends for support and made it through!

I changed my major from Math Education to Language Arts Education. Even though I LOVE math, I have a love for literature as well and decided that it would be academically a better route for me. I am now entering my senior year with the goal to teach middle school English or Math. Most people give me that crazy look when I tell them I want to teach this age group, but this time is so special and critical for kids. They are in, what I like to tell people, an "awkward age." They are no longer elementary kids, and not quite high schoolers. They are in the "in-between." I can't wait to hear all their silly stories and to make some wonderful memories with them. :)

My little sister, Sheridan, who is 6 years old just graduated from Kindergarten! It was a country/western theme! Which goes so well with her school, Navajo Elementary, because it is literally out in the middle of the country! They "road" down the red carpet riding stick horses. All the kindergartens sang "Oklahoma" and it was probably the cutest thing ever, especially towards the end when they were getting lost in the lyrics. Miss Sheridan is such a social butterfly. She loves to be the center of attention and sing for people. I love spending time with her and my other siblings. I'm truly enjoying being home for the week, because during the school year, I rarely make it down here.

Well I hope you all are enjoying your summers!

Sunshine and Snow-cones,

Stephanie
